Public Relations Officer for Ghana Premier League side, Nations FC, Clement Appiah, has confirmed that the club will be paying the GH₵500 fine imposed by the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee on player Emmanuel Annor.
The fine was issued after Emmanuel Annor displayed an inscription “I BELONG TO JESUS” on an undergarment he wore under his jersey to celebrate a goal he scored in a match against Asante Kotoko.
The player took to social media to register his displeasure over the punishment, but Appiah reacting on the issue on the Game on GHOne TV revealed the club accepts the decision of the GFA and will be paying the fine imposed on the player.
“As Nations FC, we have pleaded guilty, accepted Emmanuel Annor’s fine, and will pay for it.
We are aware that our player is at fault, and as a club, we have no problem with the GFA,” he said.
