On Friday, October 20, 2023, the Chairman of the National Youth Working Committee of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Okai Mintah, embarked on a significant diplomatic visit to London, United Kingdom.

His mission was to engage with the Secretary-General of the Socialist International Ms. Benedicta Lasi Esq
at her office in Vauxhall, London.

This visit marked a historical moment as it was the first of its kind for Chairman Okai Mintah, who was recently appointed to this esteemed position by the NDC Functional Executive Committee and the National Youth Wing.

Upon his arrival at the office of the Secretary-General, Mr. Mintah was received with warmth and open arms by Ms. Benedicta Lasi Esq, the Secretary-General of the Socialist International. The two engaged in extensive discussions aimed at exploring avenues of cooperation between the NDC Youth Wing and the esteemed international organization.

Ms. Lasi conveyed her elation at Chairman Mintah’s visit and expressed the organization’s commitment to offer valuable technical support to the NDC, thereby enhancing the party’s prospects in the upcoming 2024 general elections. She also offered guidance and counsel, emphasizing the importance of providing more political leadership opportunities to young individuals within the NDC.

This strategy, she believes, will help build the capacity and competence of the youth to lead and govern effectively.

Subsequent to this pivotal meeting, the Chairman of the NDC Youth Working Committee joined the UK/Ireland Chapter on Saturday, October 21, 2023, for their Post-Elections Celebrations held in Tottenham, North London.

At this gathering, members of the UK/Ireland Chapter were charged with the responsibility of dedicating their unwavering efforts to ensure that the NDC, under the leadership of President John Mahama, secures a resounding victory in the 2024 general elections.

Notable attendees at this event included prominent figures within the NDC, such as Comrade Joseph Yammin (National Organiser), Comrade Mustapha Gbande (Deputy General Secretary), Comrade Chief Biney (National Coordinator, ALPHA PROJECT), Comrade Abraham Ferguson (Supreme Leader), Comrade Conrad Dumbah (UK/Ireland Chapter Chairman), along with his fellow executives and enthusiastic members and supporters of the great NDC.

These gatherings and interactions reaffirmed the commitment and dedication of the NDC Youth Working Committee, along with its associated international partners, to working together to ensure a brighter political future for the NDC and the nation of Ghana.
