Day 3 of the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship saw Ghana Navy Men come up against arch rivals Nigeria Customs team from Nigeria.
Moments before the match, the Customs team paused to celebrate the birthday of two female players, Abdulraheem Aishat Toyosi and Yaro Naomi, honoring their dedication in a brief ceremony in the auditorium.
When the action got underway, Richard, wearing jersey number 10 for the Sharks, opened with the first serve, but the Eagles immediately shut it down with a block. A chest save from Bawa Rafique kept the rally alive, yet Nigeria Customs maintained control and closed out the first set 25–17.
Seeking a response, the Ghana Navy side took to the court early for the second set, and it paid off as Nigeria hit the net on their opening serve.
However, the Customs team quickly regrouped, overturning the momentum and securing another set win.
In the third set, the Sharks mounted a determined push, collecting points steadily with their sights on a comeback. But the Eagles rose above the pressure, edging out a tight 25–23 finish to seal a straight-set victory. The win marks Nigeria Customs’ second triumph in two games, earning them a perfect six points so far.
The 2025 Super Volleyball Championship continues this week, with Nigeria Customs set to face Ghana Police in their next encounter.
