The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) has inaugurated the Para-Athletics and Para-Powerlifting Associations at the Media Center of the Accra Stadium on Thursday.
The Para-Athletics will be headed by Dr. Isaac Ankomah, vice president is Otor Plahar, Secretary General, Peter Adjei, P.R.O, Winfred Nafisa, and some executive members; Ignatius Ellertey, Shaban Mohammed and Sesiman Donatus.
For Para-Powerlifting, they will have Samson Deen (President), Peter Adjei (vice president), Michael Kwame, Edward Oppong and Ignatius Ellertey (Executive members).
According to the NPC President, Bishop Cornelius Adjah Coffie the decision to inaugurate these bodies is in order to extensively develop the sports in the country.
“These two bodies will have a four-year term each and I am charging you to do everything within your power to lift the image of the sports,” he told the press.
