Joseph Yamin, the National Organizer for Ghana’s opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a bold cyber dare warning that the New Patriotic Party would not be able to collate results before 8 PM on Election Day.
Speaking to host Kojo Marfo on AbusuaNkommo at ABUSUA965FM, Dr. Yamin mocked the NPP’s Election Management Systems predicting that their systems would face failures.
“I want to tell my NDC members that there’s no way the NPP will collate their results before 8 pm. It’s a lie; it won’t work. I’m telling you, the NPP will claim their system has jammed, but we have more intelligent people in IT than they do”, he stated.
He challenged the NPP’s acclaimed advanced hacking capabilities contending, “If they think they have sophisticated means to hack the system, tell them I say they are lying”.
Yamin emphasized that the NDC has already implemented robust systems to ensure a fair electoral process, drawing on historical experiences to bolster his argument.
He recalled his arrest prior to the December 2008 elections, recounting, “When they arrested me, we had already set up our systems at that time.”
“This time too, we’ve already set up our plan. Intimidation tactics will not deter the NDC from executing its strategy,” he dared.
Yamin added “Maybe they had an advantage in 2020, but that shouldn’t give them confidence they’ll have an advantage in 2024. I’m telling them that anything they plan will fail”.
He further cautioned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that any plot to rig this year’s election would be exposed.
