The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Central Tongu, Godwin Ayikpa well known as Casola has made some exciting promises to his constituents. He’s vowed to donate GHC 5,000 each to over 400 communities in the district if elected as their next Member of Parliament.
This amount will serve as capital for agricultural investments, specifically for cassava plantations, which will be owned and managed by the community members.
The aspiring Member of Parliament disclosed this on Wednesday October 30, 2024 at Mafi Sasekpe one of the notable communities in the district where he unvealed his policies.
The PC’s road map is to plough ten acres of farmland each in all the communities in the district for cassava cultivation, generating over GHC 70, 000 from every community in a year to tackle challenges in the communities and the district as a whole.
He also aims to partner with NGOs, the government, and other stakeholders to build a cassava processing factory in the district. This factory will process raw materials into various end products for export, creating jobs for constituents.
His ultimate goal is to make Central Tongu the highest cassava-producing district in Ghana and worldwide.
In order to land on this initiative, he urged the constituents to vote for him and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to bring more development to the district and change the narrative that politicians are liars.
