Spokesperson for former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Yaw Opoku Mensah, has described him as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) most reliable and transformational candidate among the five presidential aspirants.
Speaking in an interview on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey on Friday, August 29, Mr. Mensah said Dr. Adutwum stands out as the ideal leader to drive Ghana’s next phase of socio-economic development.
“My candidate is the best man for the job in the sense that my candidate has proven to the party and the entire country as a reliable candidate that is required within this period of our socioeconomic development.
My candidate, within his private individual, and, again, as a public official, has demonstrated to the good people of Ghana that, indeed, the transformational elements that we are seeking for as a party and as a country to be able to get to the height of where our peers, those that we started with, the Singaporeans, the Koreans, etc., have gotten to, is within his fold,” he stressed.
He argued that Dr. Adutwum has already demonstrated innovative leadership during his tenure at the Ministry of Education, where his policies began yielding tangible results.
According to him, Dr. Adutwum represents a 21st-century leader with vision, empathy, and a commitment to using politics to improve people’s lives.
“He keeps saying that we do politics to ensure that the people’s life become easy, the people’s life become comfortable, the people’s life becomes what propels the nation to the heights that we all seek for,” Mensah added, urging party members to rally behind him.
Dr. Adutwum officially filed his nomination on Thursday, August 28, becoming the last aspirant to submit his forms before the deadline, shortly after former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The NPP Presidential Elections Committee has confirmed five aspirants in the race: Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Ken Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Supporters of Dr. Adutwum ay his mix of technocratic expertise, humility, and vision makes him the party’s best bet for victory in the 2028 general elections.
