Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, the Campaign Coordinator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed strong confidence that the party will secure 99 parliamentary seats across six regions in the upcoming December elections.
Speaking during a press briefing in Kumasi, Dr Afriyie, who is also the Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore, highlighted the NPP’s preparedness to win both the presidential and the middle belt.
Dr. Afriyie attributed the anticipated success to the NPP’s “firm and time-tested policies and programme,” which he argued resonate more with Ghanaians compared to the opposition’s campaign.
He highlighted the NPP’s strategy to flip key constituencies, including the Tain constituency and the stronghold of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
Praising Dr. Bawumia for his dedication and resilience, Dr Afriyie noted that despite challenges, the vice president and his team had remained committed to securing victory for the party.
“We have put all the necessary structures in place to secure a resounding win in both the presidential and parliamentary elections,” Dr Afriyie reiterated.
“We can state emphatically that after an exhaustive and comprehensive campaign across all the 6 regions, the NPP is set to win a total of 99 seats in Ashanti, Eastern, Bono East, Ahafo, Western North, and Eastern Regions.”
Dr. Afriyie also reassured voters in the middle belt regions, saying, “We want to assure all Ghanaians, especially voters in the 6 regions under the middle belt zone, that they have nothing to worry about because their security is fully assured. They must go to their polling stations and cast their ballots for the NPP and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia without fear or intimidation.”
