The Concerned National Service Scheme (NSS) Personnel Association of Ghana (CONSPAG) has declared a nationwide strike effective Wednesday, July 3, 2024, citing unpaid allowances.
In a statement, they explained that the government currently owes them five months’ allowance, while university graduates are owed three months’ allowance.
They emphasized that according to NSS rules and regulations, personnel who fail to report to their assigned posts for three consecutive months are subject to sanctions.
Despite this, they have continued working under challenging conditions without receiving allowances for five months (trainees) and three months (university graduates).
The association therefore called on all public and private stakeholders, including media houses among others to come to their aid and help push for the timely payment of allowances.
