The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga has expressed support for the 2025 edition of the Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Cup, describing it as a powerful initiative that promotes peace, unity, and youth development through sports.
The Homowo Peace Cup is held every year as part of the Homowo festival to promote peace, unity, and show respect to the Gbese Mantse, Nii Ayi Bonte II.
Winners take home a big trophy, and there are special prizes for the Best Player, Best Defender, and Best Goalkeeper.

Speaking during a courtesy call by the organisers of the Peace Cup, he voiced that the NYA is honoured by the invitation and deeply appreciates the efforts of the Gbese Mantse and the organisers.
“We are honoured by your kind invitation to the Gbese Mantse Homowo Peace Cup 2025 and especially grateful to His Royal Majesty for his kind gesture and goodwill,” he stated.

He lauded the tournament’s role in fostering cultural heritage and national cohesion, adding that its goals align with the core mission of the NYA.
“It’s truly inspiring to see how sports is being used as a powerful tool to promote peace, unity, cultural heritage, and youth development. These values align strongly with the mission of the National Youth Authority,” he noted.

He highlighted the importance of the planned activities including the trophy tour and the much-anticipated match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kpando Heart of Lions as symbols of community engagement and national pride.

“These engagements go beyond entertainment. They show a deep commitment to community building and national cohesion,” he said.
