Head Coach for the Black Stars, Otto Addo has jumped to the defence of defender, Mohammed Salisu who has consistently rejected invitations to the Black Stars.
Mohammed Salisu has received a lot of backlash for not representing Ghana and stating that he is not ready for the team.
According to Otto Addo, he has had a conversation with Salisu Mohammed and the player’s reasons for not coming are genuine and only outsiders won’t understand him.
“I got to know Mohammed Salisu when I went to Southampton I think two months ago, we had very good talks and for you to understand the issue, it will take longer. But as an outsider it is easy for you to say he doesn’t want to come but there are alot of reasons.” he said.
The Dortmund trainer also revealed that Mohammed Salisu will play for Ghana when he is ready.
“I understand him for his reasons and I really appreciate for him taking time to explain things to me and I hope the time will come, He wants to play but maybe not at this moment but the day will come.” he added.
