President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Efua Ghartey has announced that Ghana has been selected to host the 2025 African Bar Association Conference.
The Conference, slated for October 2025, is expected to attract about 800 lawyers from across the continent.
Announcing the development during the opening ceremony of the ongoing Bar Conference in Wa, Mrs. Ghartey expressed both pride and a sense of responsibility on behalf of the Association.
She stated, “No sooner had we started finding our feet, were we approached by the leadership of the African Bar Association… The Ghana Bar Association had been highly considered to play host to the rest of Africa in October 2025.”
The GBA President stressed that the selection is not only an honour but also a recognition of Ghana’s strong standing within the continent’s legal community.
Mrs. Ghartey added, “It is a responsibility we must embrace with pride and safeguard jealously. I am confident that we all will live up to this challenge.”
Preparations are already underway, with the GBA assuring its readiness to host the prestigious gathering, which will bring together legal minds from across Africa to deliberate on pressing issues and exchange ideas.
