A devastating fire outbreak on Monday evening has completely gutted the housemaster’s bungalow and Boys Dormitory of Oyoko Methodist Senior High School in Koforidua, Eastern Region. The incident occurred around 7:00 PM.
According to witnesses, the fire started from the house master’s bungalow, which is closer to the boys dormitory.
By the time personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene, the entire bungalow had been burnt to ashes and was spreading to the boys dormitory.
However, the swift intervention of the fire service prevented the flames from entirely engulfing the dormitory, averting a potentially larger disaster.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were recorded.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and officials say investigations will soon commence to determine what triggered the blaze.
