The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has urged government to take immediate steps to settle their salary arrears which have been outstanding since 2013.
NAGRAT says it is unacceptable and demotivating for Teachers to suffer prolonged delays of this kind when they continue to deliver their best in the classroom.

Speaking to Starr News, President of NAGRAT Christian Addai Poku stated that world Teachers day has little significance if government remains unconcerned about their demands.
Meanwhile, a Primary 1 teacher at the Richard Aquaye Memorial School in Agbobloshie, Faustina Cobson has been crowned the 2017 National best teacher.
Madam Cobson was given 50, 000 Ghana cedis, a lifetime Insurance cover from SIC and a three bedroom house.
Madam Cobson was given her prize during the 2017 celebration of the International Teachers in Koforidua, Eastern region.
Agnes Nutakor, a teacher at the Kpeve Model School in the Volta region, took home a cash prize of 110,000 cedis and a life insurance cover from SIC after she was adjudged as the First-runner up.
42-year-old Joseph Agbotsa of the La Nkwantanan Presec in Accra, the second-runner up took home a brand new car, 20,000 cedis and a life insurance cover from SIC.
