Bernard Akpabli, the former Constituency Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ketu North, has announced his intention to lead a campaign against Pius Enam Hadzide in the Asuogyaman constituency.

Mr. Akpabli, who recently resigned from the NPP alongside 200 other members, accused Hadzide of being incompetent and unfit to represent the constituency.

Mr. Hadzide, who previously ran as the NPP parliamentary candidate in Ketu North, has relocated to contest the Asuogyaman seat, currently held by NDC MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko.

Mr. Bernard Akpabli, also known as Agbeli, claims that Hadzide did nothing to improve the living standards of people in Ketu North and, therefore, has nothing substantial to offer the people of Asuogyaman.

He urged the Ewe communities not to make the mistake of voting for Pius Enam Hadzide to get disappointed.

“Pius cannot point to anything as achievement in Ketu North. His father was constituency chairman at Ketu North, now the Council of Elders why is he not contesting there? He has run to this place because he thinks the seat flips so can win”.

He added “I dare Pius Hadzide with authority if he is able to point at one project that he did in Ketu North  I will go back and join the party back. Some of us are coming to sacrifice for the Asuogyaman constituency. We are going to stay here for a number of days and campaign from Polling station to polling station. From community to community, from Radio station to radio station to expose Pius Hadzide that he has nothing good for the people of Asuogyaman” Said Akpabli.

He was speaking during an NDC “retail campaign” by the National Chairman of NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia at Mpakadan.

Akpabli assured the NDC that he would bring back over 6,000 former NPP members who he swayed to vote against the NDC in previous elections.

He pledged that these voters would now support John Mahama and the NDC in the upcoming December 7 elections.

NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, also addressed the gathering, urging constituents to focus on development rather than tribal politics. He praised the incumbent MP, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, for his hard work and assured the community that more developmental projects would be undertaken if the NDC wins power in 2025.

Nketia also reminded voters of the Australian Visa Scandal involving Hadzide, stating that the NDC would thoroughly investigate and prosecute such cases if given the mandate.

MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko highlighted the projects funded by his common fund that have benefited Mpakadan and other communities, promising even more development under a future NDC government.
