Chairman of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee and Member of Parliament for Ashiaman, Ernest Norgbey, has praised the performance of Kofi Adams in his role as Minister for Sports and Recreation, describing him as a “forward-looking” leader who has brought stability and progress to Ghana’s sports landscape.
The Ashiaman legislator highlighted Kofi Adams’ significant contributions since assuming office, particularly in the national football setup, where he played a key role in Ghana’s recent successes in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with the Black Stars securing back to back victories over Chad and Madagascar.
“Kofi Adams is a very good brother and colleague. So far, so good. I know him to be somebody who is steadfast and also a forward-looking person. He has performed creditably,” Norgbey said in an interview with GHOne TV’s Benjamin Yamoah.
He specifically credited the sports minister for his involvement in the Black Stars’ victories over Chad and Madagascar in March, games that revitalized national support for the team after a difficult period.
“Kofi Adams played a major role in the Black Stars winning the two World Cup qualifiers [against Chad and Madagascar]. I hope and pray that if there will be a reshuffle in the future, Kofi should remain as the sports minister to be able to propel the sporting disciplines to another level,” he added.
Norgbey’s endorsement reflects growing confidence in Kofi Adams’ ability to transform sports in Ghana beyond just football.
