The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has thrown his weight behind Ghanaian representatives Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars as they prepare for their CAF inter-club matches this weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
On Friday, 19th September 2025, the Minister paid working visits to both clubs, beginning with Asante Kotoko at their training ground.
Addressing the Porcupine Warriors, Mr. Adams urged the players to embrace discipline, teamwork, and determination as they seek to restore the club’s historic glory on the continental stage.
He reminded the squad of the responsibility they carry to meet the expectations of millions of fans both locally and abroad.

The Minister later met Bibiani Gold Stars at their hotel, where he encouraged the team ahead of their maiden appearance in Africa.
He charged the players to believe in themselves, seize the opportunity to write their names in history, and demonstrate that their impressive domestic league form can be replicated on the continental front.
As a gesture of support, Mr. Adams donated GH¢10,000 each to Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars to boost their preparations.

He reaffirmed government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for Ghanaian clubs to thrive internationally through policy reforms, infrastructure development, and technical assistance.
“The nation stands firmly behind you as you carry the Ghana flag high in Africa,” the Minister assured.
