The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has settled all outstanding salary arrears owed to current and former coaches and technical staff of the Black Stars, resolving financial obligations that had remained unpaid since 2020.
The payment follows a comprehensive audit and intervention led by Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Iddie Adams, to address the long-standing issue.
The list of beneficiaries includes former head coaches Charles Kwablan (CK) Akonnor, David Duncan, Milovan Rajevac, and Chris Hughton, among others. Each received full payments of their outstanding entitlements.
The current coaching staff, led by Otto Addo in his second stint as head coach, had also been affected by delayed payments. They had not received salaries since October 2024. That situation has now been rectified, with the ministry settling six months’ worth of arrears up to March 2025.
Otto Addo alone is reported to have received more than $420,000 in outstanding salary payments.
The move brings much-needed financial relief to the technical team and is seen as a step toward restoring confidence and professionalism within Ghana’s football management system.
