Nigeria’s Super Eagles have booked a place in the knockout stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after edging Tunisia 3–2 in an entertaining Group C encounter at the Complexe Sportif de Fès in Morocco.
Victor Osimhen opened the scoring just before half-time, rising highest to head home a pinpoint cross from Ademola Lookman.
Nigeria doubled their advantage shortly after the break when Wilfred Ndidi powered in a header from Lookman’s corner in the 50th minute to register his first international goal.
Lookman capped an outstanding individual performance in the 67th minute, finishing off a slick team move to make it 3–0 and put Nigeria firmly in control.
Tunisia, however, staged a late fightback. Montassar Talbi pulled one back in the 74th minute before Ali Abdi converted a penalty in the 87th minute to set up a tense finish. Despite the pressure, the Super Eagles held on to claim all three points.
The victory sends Nigeria through to the round of 16 and lifts them to the top of Group C with six points from two matches.
