Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, has firmly rejected assertions that his recent Supreme Court victory was merely a technical win, insisting that the election results in the constituency were clear from the outset.
Speaking in response to comments made by a fellow MP during an interview on GHOne TV, Mr. Nyindam argued that the case had been misrepresented for political reasons.
“You never followed the matter keenly. You followed it politically. That is how you followed it,” he said.
He maintained that the Supreme Court verdict reflected the true will of the people.
“There are people in Parliament today who are holding less than 100 votes and they are MPs. I’m telling you that in elections, there was no challenge at any polling station. All the pink sheets in the 152 polling stations, everybody signed to those polling stations, except three,” he explained.
Mr. Nyindam also highlighted that experienced politicians can often predict the outcome on the night of voting.
“If you’re a politician, by 10 p.m. that very day, you will know whether you’ve lost your seat. It was clear that the NDC in Kpandai knew they had lost,” he claimed.
Dismissing suggestions that voters in Kpandai were uncertain about their choice, he added:
“He should not say the people of Kpandai don’t know the person they voted for. They know very well the person they voted for, just the same way the people of Bongo voted for him,” he said.
The Supreme Court’s 4–1 ruling has confirmed Mr. Nyindam’s position as MP for Kpandai, bringing an end to the prolonged legal dispute over the 2024 parliamentary election results in the constituency.
