The President of the International Advertisers Association has refuted claims suggesting the advent of technology has impacted negatively on the sector.
Joel Nettey told journalist it has rather helped improved standard in the industry as compared to the past two decades.
He said” previously there used to be a vetting process that ensures a certain kind of advert that meets an agreed standard is the only advert that is permitted to go out but that is not happening now.
He further added that “technology allows anybody to record anything to put them out and you don’t have a system in place today that enables us to vet before adverts are approved.
Joel Nettey was speaking at the just ended Social Media Week at Silver Bird Cinema here in Accra.
This year’s Social Media Week Accra brought together industry players, brand custodians, agencies and businesses to share their stories that will help grow industries.
