The 2020 Flagbearer of the main opposition NDC, John Dramani Mahama has thanked Ghanaians for donating to power the NDC’s 10th Delegates Congress held over the weekend.

He said the massive support that saw over one million received in donations in 12 days is a demonstration of the love Ghanaians have for the NDC party.

“I wish to express my appreciation to all donors who helped us make up the shortfall in our budget for the congress. This is a demonstration of the love Ghanaians generally and members of the NDC have for our party and the worthy cause we are embarking on,” Mr Mahama wrote in a Facebook post Monday.

Ahead of the NDC’s Congress, the former leader took to social media to raise funds to support the National Democratic Congress’ event.

He made the appeal in a post on his Facebook page.

“I am inviting 500,000 willing Ghanaians, NDC supporters, sympathisers, and friends to donate a minimum of 10 Ghana Cedis each to help us fund the congress. You don’t have to be a member of the NDC to donate.

“Please donate via MoMo number 059 860 4199. Or pay into the NDC Congress Account at the GCB Bank. Account Number: 13-9113-00-00-837. If you want to arrange other forms of support, please send me an email- office@johnmahama.org”, Mr. Mahama posted.

The NDC was able to raise GH¢1.083 million to support in the organisation of its 10th National Delegates Congress.

“MoMo donations and deposits into the congress account, and other alternate channels of donation amounted to GH¢1,083,000 (one million and eighty-three thousand), the party’s National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi Esq disclosed ahead of the congress.
