Tokyo 2020: Ghana invite 24 home-based players

Ghana’s U23 manager Ibrahim Tanko has invited 24 home-based players to commence camping and preparation ahead of the final U23 AFCON Qualifier with Gabon next month.

Asante Kotoko U 20 shot stopper Danlad Ibrahim has been handed a call up as well as Hearts of Oak’s in-form Richmond Ayi.

Below is the list of Twenty four players who were handed invitation by Ibrahim Tanko and his technical team to start preparations for the clash.

Richmond Ayi (GK) – Hearts of Oak

William Dankyi – Hearts of Oak

Maxwell Arthur – Dreams FC

Montari Kamaheni – Dreams FC

Eric Owusu – Bechem United

Ibrahim Moro – Karela FC

Prosper Ahiabu – Inter Allies

Zakaria Fuseini – Berekum Chelsea

Braimah Foster – Berekum Chelsea

Emmanuel Cudjoe – Attram Visser FC

Alhassan Ouattara – Medeama SC.

Tahiru Awudu – Medeama SC

Simon Zibo – Liberty Professionals

Elvis Kyei Baffour – Liberty Professionals

Philip Awudu Gemeli – Okyeman Planners

Daniel Lomotey – WAFA SC

Emmanuel Sarpong – Star Madrid

Emmanuel Kumah – Mighty Jets

Ebo Gyasi – Ebusua Dwarfs

Caleb Amankwaa – Aduana Stars

The Black Meteors will commence camping on Wednesday at the M-Plaza Hotel in Accra ahead of the clash with Gabon.

The team will start training at the El Wak Stadium in Accra on Thursday morning.

Deputy coach Michael Osei will lead the team’s training as they commence camping in the absence of head coach Ibrahim Tanko who is currently on a Black Stars assignment in Europe.

The Ghanaian Olympic Team will host Gabon in Accra on March 22 in the final phase of the AFCON U23 qualifier.

Ghana swept aside Togo in the first stage of the qualifier with a 5-2 aggregate score line to set the clash with Gabon.
