Twists & Locs partners Santé Initiative on “Wigs of Love” to celebrate 15 years

In 2022 alone, over 15000 women in Ghana faced the life-altering diagnosis of cancer. A staggering 50% of these cases were either cervical, ovarian or breast cancer (Global Cancer Observatory). For many, chemotherapy often comes with an unfortunate but visible side effect: hair loss. Hair is often more than just hair; it’s a crown, a statement of identity and beauty. Losing it during the treatment is not only a painful reminder of the battle but often leads to stares, whispers and stigma—adding emotional weight to an already difficult journey.

Enter Twists & Locs, Ghana’s premier natural hair salon, which has been making waves (and curls!) in the natural hair scene for 15 years. And what better way to celebrate than by spreading love? Since 2020, “Wigs of Love” has been their flagship project—bringing confidence and a little extra sparkle to women battling cancer through donations of wigs. For its milestone 5th edition, Twists & Locs is taking it up a notch by teaming up with The C.A.R.E. Project of Santé Initiative to celebrate cancer warriors, shower them with all the love they deserve, and boost their confidence.

“At Twists & Locs, we believe every woman deserves to feel beautiful, no matter the battle she’s fighting. Through ‘Wigs of Love,’ we’re doing more than creating wigs; we’re creating hope,” says Kuorkor Dzani, founder of Twists & Locs.”

This year, the stylists aren’t just making wigs—they’re crafting empowerment. These hand-designed, stylish wigs aren’t just hair replacements; they’re acts of love. With the sole purpose of helping women reclaim a sense of normalcy and grace as they face the biggest fight of their lives—we are inspired.

Twists & Locs is calling on the community to get involved. Got an old wig lying around? All salon locations now feature rattan baskets where you can drop off pre-loved wigs, which will be revived and donated to women who need them most. And if you don’t have a wig to donate, no

worries! You can still be part of the magic by sending a donation (as little as 50ghs) via MoMo to

0248309362 (Ref: Wigs of Love).

Join us as we celebrate 15 amazing years of making natural hair beautiful while standing with cancer warriors. Together, let’s make every woman feel bold, beautiful, and powerful again—one wig at a time.

Let’s do this together!
