Ghana’s national U-17 team, the Black Starlets were beaten by one goal to nil in the second group game by the USA in the ongoing World Cup in India at the Delhi Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
America’s substitute, Ayo Akinola scored the only goal of the match in the 76th after coming on for George Weah’s son Tim Weah in the 63rd minute.
Ghana had to finish the game with 10 men after defender Abdul Yusif picked up a head injury failing to continue the game.
Goal scorer Akinola failed to get his second after shooting over the bar. Eric Ayiah once again failed to get a touch on Sadiq Ibrahim’s cross as the chance went begging.
America now lead the group with six points from two games and later today host Nation India will face Colombia in the same group
Ghana will now have to pick a win against host India in the final group game on Thursday.
