Ultimate FM, Isaac Okyere Outreach celebrate Christmas with Central destitute infirmary

Ultimate FM’s Brunch and Lunch Show together with Isaac Okyere Outreach Ministries brought love to the dejected at the Central Destitute Infirmary located at Bekwai in the Ashanti Region when the team visited the care home with Christmas donations.

In the spirit of sharing and caring for the needy; the philanthropic mission was led by the host Sarah Brefo affectionately called SBee and Evangelist Isaac Okyere a regular panel on the relationship segment and founder of the Isaac Okyere Outreach Ministries.

The items donated included bags of Rice, sugar and gari; pieces of fabric, clothes and dresses; shoes and slippers; packs of water and drinks; sanitary pads and toilet rolls; detergents and toiletries as well as loafs of bread and confectionaries.

Built by Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in the year 1957, the facility caters for elderly persons suffering marked vulnerabilities; elderly persons facing neglect and dejection from their families and those who have suffered mental challenges and health conditions that have rendered them incapable of retracing or reuniting with their families.

The home has for decades seen no renovation, the wiring is obsolete, washrooms are a disturbing sight and security is completely compromised with no lights and no fence to protect the vulnerable inmates.

Expressing his gratitude after an exciting time of fellowship with the home, social welfare director in charge of operations Bernard Ofori pointed out that unlike orphanages, their facility hardly sees donations as a result of stigma and little awareness about the work they do.

“We have a lot of challenges with food and finances and have to depend on donors and philanthropists to support us. Some of our inmates have to go for medical care, physio and buy drugs but the people will not even pick them in their commercial transport because of the stigma,” he shared.

“This is the first time Evangelist and Ultimate FM have come to help us with these things which we believe will take us a long while. We really thank them,”

Host of the Ultimate Branch and Lunch, Sarah Brefo who was elated to have extended a hand of support thanked listeners who generously supported the mission and encouraged others to endeavor to emulate same.

“It’s a big thankyou to our listeners and fans who did amazingly well. We have been amazed that as a first time organizing such a project, we had a lot of people who participated bringing in cash, items, clothes and many more. “I want to send a message to everyone that as you merry, eat your chicken and julloff; remember that there are others out there who have nothing to eat and reach out to them,” she commended.

Evangelist Isaac Okyere emphasized the need for people across the country to reach out to all orphanages, care homes and holding facilities in Ghana recognizing the dire constraints they are constantly plagued with.

“Everybody needs another person’s assistance. If I have the strength to work to buy food, why shouldn’t I get some for the one who cannot? And that is my main motivation.”

We are sending a signal to the world, institutions, individuals, government to have a look at these care centers and come to their aid, he advised.

A regular PANEL on the Relationship Segment of the Ultimate Brunch and Lunch Mrs. Kunadu Kwarkye Described the noble gesture as one that exemplifies the virtue of giving as admonished in the good books of the Holy Bible.

Our best gospel is when we visit the needy, homeless, orphans and widows. It’s when we give that we receive more so just as the Ultimate FM team and the Isaac Okyere Ministries have done, I entreat others to do same,” she stated.

Surprise Citation

The Branch and Lunch team, pulled a surprise on Evangelist Isaac Okyere presenting him a citation for his dedication to Ultimate FM and the Ultimate Branch and Lunch Show which airs every week day between Ten and 2:00 PM.

The team read out the citation appreciating him for his commitment to the show and for the valuable insights and pieces of advice he shares on the relationships segment.

Part of the citation read, “We are deeply thankful for the opportunity to work alongside such a powerful, God fearing and talented man of God.”

“Our listeners and the Ultimate Brunch and lunch team are constantly inspired by your unique perspectives and ideas. Your commitment to excellence is evident in every broadcast and we are grateful that you chose to be part of our team.”
