Preparations are underway at the Volta Regional Youth Resource Centre at Adaklu which is the venue for the 6th March parade to take place today.
Over the weekend, the Regional capital saw an influx of people eager to participate in the country’s 66th Independence day anniversary celebration.
The Region has received numerous attention as a result of it hosting this year’s celebration.
Several businesses are reporting higher returns due to increased patronage. Some traders told Starr News that they expect their sales to soar with the main event hours away.
Meanwhile, former President John Mahama has criticized the government for not using funds for the celebration to fix the shortage of vaccines for children that has hit the counry.
Mr Mahama said he believes the elaborate celebration is needless in the face of all the economic challenges that confront the nation.
