The Member of Parliament (MP) for Walewale, Dr. Tiah Abdul-Karibu Mahama says the response by the Majority leader of Parliament, Cassiel Ato Baah Forson as the finance minister-designate was uninspiring.
Speaking to Starr Today with Tutuwaa, the lawmaker stated that Dr. Forson’s responses during his vetting do not inspire hope and therefore he is incompetent.
“His responses don’t inspire hope at all. I feel like he has the demeanor of a leader, I believe his temperament is right for the position but the ability to think through the solution that Ghana needs to be radically involved I have my reservations”, he said.
He continued that the evidence of Ato Forson’s competence lies in the companies he manages which according to him are failures.
“He managed a company and that company has gone bankrupt, and that company is even a micro part of a bigger economy,” he said.
” He has a lot of companies that has not even filed thier tax returns”
He later said that they are issues involving Ato Forson and that Ghanaians are having problem with them and there fore these issues need to be handled.
” Once those issues are not addressed I will not be comfortable in my mind, I will not be stable in my mind that this man is suitable.
” And the fact that they denied him an opportunity to clear himself and us the opportunity to ask it will be a scar to our conscience that this is the man who did ABC since he didn’t clear himself I will forever have a misconception about him”, he stated
He concluded that he wishes Ato Forson will prove him wrong so that the Ghanaian people will benefit from his work.
“I pray and hope he proves me wrong at least the Ghanaian people will benefit and I will be put to shame”, he said.
