W/R Police commander angrily cuts interview over missing girls’ question

The Western regional Police Commander DCOP Vincent Redeemer Dedjoe  shocked listeners of Morning Starr on Starr FM Tuesday when he angrily refused to answer questions over the status of the search for the Takoradi missing girls.

The commander who was responding to questions over how the police found the baby who was allegedly stolen at the Takoradi market circle, suddenly switched mood, when the host Francis Abban, asked about the girls who have been missing for several months.

He warned he would drop the call if the host continued with the questions over the girls and lived up to his threat.

“I cannot comment on the 3 girls who were kidnapped in the Western Region. The case is still under investigation….period! I will go off the line if you continue ask me about the girls,” he warned seconds before dropping the line.

It has been almost a year since the girls went missing.

The girls who were kidnapped have been identified as Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Priscilla Koranchie.

Their families have engaged in a series of protests to demand urgency from the police.

The most recent one was by a group calling itself the Concerned Mothers Association of Takoradi.

But the police on various occasions have insisted that they are working hard to rescue the girls.

Ghana and security agencies in the United Kingdom and the USA are collaborating to find the kidnapped girls.

Three of the victims were reportedly kidnapped by the main suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, who was arrested earlier this year, 2019.

Samuel Udoetuk Wills is currently in police custody and being tried for breaking jail.

He has failed to provide the location of the kidnapped girls.
