Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Director General of the National Sports Authority, has initiated a “Staff of the Month” award for workers at the Authority to recognize the good work done by staff.
Mr. Ampofo Ankrah launched the initiative at a staff durbar of the National Sports Authority at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, where the first awardee, Mr. Kwaku Bimpong Andoh was recognised as the outstanding NSA officer of the month of March.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Ampofo Ankrah emphasised the need to bring to light the many positives of the Sports Authority and show the world all the good work being done at the authority.
He also added that staff of the authority have shown him respect, and the initiative is not just to encourage hard work and positivity but to repay the respect and trust he’s received from the staff since his appointment.
The Director-General, who was appointed in March 2025, has pledged to take the ‘Staff of the Month ‘ award to the regional level as well.
He then announced a May Day Health Fitness and Wellness Walk scheduled to happen on Thursday the 1st of May from the Morning Star School in Accra to the Accra Sports Stadium at 5pm.
He finally unveiled Yaw Kusi Gyamfi as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Sports Authority.
