Thirteen-year-old Princess Nana Adoma Adu-Mante has officially launched her debut novel, Motel Mystery, in the Western Region.
According to the young author, the inspiration to write the book came from her mother, who encouraged her to create her own story due to her long-standing love for reading.
The 60-page novel, published by Lumiere Creatif, follows the story of two best friends whose curiosity leads them to investigate a mysterious motel. Along their journey, they face challenges, make unexpected discoveries, and learn important lessons about friendship and perseverance.
Speaking at the launch, the Author, Princess Nana Adoma Adu-Mante encouraged young people to believe in themselves and remain confident in pursuing their dreams.
“Believe in yourself. Your ideas are valuable, your talents are important, and your dreams matter. Never be afraid to try something new because you may surprise yourself with what you can achieve,” she said.
She also shared some of the challenges she encountered while writing the book, revealing that she struggled with motivation at some point but remained determined to complete the project.
“I lost motivation at the time I started, but I began this year,” she added.
The father of the young author and Chief Executive Officer of Focus 1Group , Ing Kwame Adu-Mante, called on parents to support and nurture the talents and interests of their children.
“When you see your child showing interest in activities such as football, piano, violin, or anything they are passionate about, encourage them and provide the support they need to pursue it. Children can discover and develop their own talents, but when we force them into paths we want for them, it often becomes a challenge,” he said.
The event brought together the Municipal Chief Executive for the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), Abdul Majeed Idrissu Nassam, who bought a copy of the book for GHC 5,000, as well as school children, teachers, and other guests who gathered to celebrate the milestone.
