As preparations intensify for the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship scheduled for November 16 to 23, an official launch event was held at the GhOne TV studios to usher in the competition.
The ceremony drew prominent figures including EIB Network CEO, Nathan Kwabena Anokye (Bola Ray), Founder of the Championship, Mohammed Aputeog, Chief Director of Sports and Recreation, Madam Wilhelmina Asamoah, Ghana Volleyball Federation President, Mr. George Tettey, and MP for Ashaiman, Mr. Ernest Norgbey.
In his opening remarks, Mohammed Aputeog revealed that this year’s edition would feature teams from Nigeria, Benin, and Burkina Faso, a major step toward regional integration in West African volleyball.
Bola Ray pledged EIB Network’s unwavering support, emphasizing the company’s commitment to using sports as a tool for unity and youth empowerment.
Mr. George Tettey, however, commended EIB Sports for championing volleyball’s growth, while Madam Wilhelmina Asamoah reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to nurturing all sporting disciplines.
A lively moment unfolded when participating teams exchanged playful “warnings” during a Q&A session, adding excitement to the build-up for the tournament.
The event wrapped up with organizers officially naming the Borteyman Sports Complex as the venue for the 2025 Super Volleyball Championship.
