The Ministry of Education has applauded the University for Development Studies (UDS) football team for advancing to the finals of the 2025 World University Games in Dalian, China, hailing their performance as a testament to discipline, hard work, and national pride.
In a statement issued on Saturday, September 27, the Ministry described the team’s journey as an inspiration to the entire nation.
“This remarkable feat is a shining example of what discipline, hard work, resilience, and above all, teamwork can achieve,” the statement noted.
It added that every action on the pitch — from defensive resilience to acts of selflessness — showcased not only the players’ determination to excel but also Ghana’s enduring spirit of unity.
The Ministry stressed that the team’s success elevates UDS’s profile internationally while positioning Ghana as a rising force in university sports.
By reaching the finals, the statement said, UDS has brought “immense pride and honour to the nation,” while proving that Ghanaian youth can excel on the global stage.
As the Tamale-based side prepares to face Paulista University of Brazil on Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Ministry expressed full confidence in their ability to finish their fairytale run with gold.
“The team has demonstrated that when individuals unite around a common purpose, they can lift each other higher and accomplish greatness,” the statement added.
