President Akufo-Addo is set to deliver his final State of the Nation Address to Parliament today, Friday, January 3, 2025.
This address, mandated by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, will serve as the President’s final assessment of the nation’s condition before he leaves office.
During his address, President Akufo-Addo is expected to provide a comprehensive update on Ghana’s current state, covering various sectors of the economy and governance.
This will be his last major engagement as President before handing over office to President-elect John Mahama.
The address will take place at Parliament House, ahead of the dissolution of the 8th Parliament on Monday, January 6, 2025.
The 9th Parliament will then convene on the same day to elect a new Speaker and two Deputy Speakers, who will be sworn into office at midnight.
