The Ghana Police Service has arrested 23-year-old Innocent Owusu in connection with the murder of his father in the Oti Region.
According to a statement released by the police on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Owusu allegedly killed his 59-year-old father, Peter Owusu, at their home in Likpe Abrani.
Following the incident, he fled the scene but was later apprehended in a forest hideout in Abrani through intelligence-led operations.
The decapitated body of the victim has been recovered and deposited at the Hohoe Government Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy. Owusu remains in police custody, assisting with the ongoing investigation.
The Oti Regional Police Command praised the residents of Likpe Abrani for their swift assistance in apprehending the suspect and extended condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
