Naa Borkor triumphs as Miss Akwaaba 2023

In a dazzling display of beauty, talent, and poise, Naa Borkor has emerged victorious as the reigning Miss Akwaaba 2023. The coronation event, held at the National Theater on Sunday, September 24, 2023, witnessed Naa Borkor’s triumph as she claimed the coveted title in a competition that showcased grace and elegance at its finest.

The Miss Akwaaba 2023 pageant was a glamorous affair, graced by dignitaries, celebrities, and a captivated audience. Contestants from diverse backgrounds competed with elegance and confidence, making it a truly remarkable and memorable event. She was presented with the key to her car by Mama Zimbi; 2nd place went to Kiki and 3rd was Abena.

According to her, she joined the pageantry because she saw it as an opportunity to showcase her talent, “First of all I’m an adventurous person; I love to challenge myself, endeavour and most of I love and stand for our Ghanaian culture and tourism. I saw Miss Akwaaba as that golden opportunity which comes with all the things I love to do and would want to continue doing further and so that’s why I joined.”

Naa Borkor, hailing from Nungua in Accra, captivated the hearts of judges and audience members alike with her charm, charisma, and radiant smile that lit up the stage. Throughout the competition, she demonstrated exceptional grace, intelligence, and an unwavering commitment to the values and ideals that Miss Akwaaba represents.

Miss Akwaaba organized by Ceejay Multi-media, is more than just a beauty pageant; it is a platform that empowers young women to pursue their dreams, contribute to their communities, and become advocates for positive change. Contestants are evaluated not only on their beauty but also on their intellect, talent, and commitment to making a difference in society.

As the newly crowned Miss Akwaaba 2023, Naa Borkor takes on the responsibility of representing the pageant’s ideals and values. Speaking about the crown, she said, “Winning Miss Akwaaba has been a huge deal and means so much. My plans are to make sure to reach out to the upcoming generation in every way possible to inculcate in them the spirit of culture and tourism, teach them the true meaning of our Ghanaian culture and tourism, help them embrace it and stand for it and encourage youth visitations to our various tourist attractions all aimed at promoting the culture and tourism industry and making the industry a topmost contributor in economy.”

She added that “I am deeply honoured and humbled to be crowned Miss Akwaaba 2023. This journey has been one of self-discovery, growth, and empowerment. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead to make a positive impact in our communities and to inspire young women to chase their dreams relentlessly. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this incredible journey.”

Her coronation represents not only a personal triumph but also a commitment to creating a brighter future for her community and beyond.

Miss Akwaaba is an annual beauty pageant that celebrates beauty, talent, intelligence, and community involvement. It provides a platform for young women to showcase their abilities and advocate for meaningful change in society.

Born, Charlotte Naa Borkor Nee-Whan, a 20-year-old level 300 student of the University of Ghana Business School. I completed St Monica’s SHS and Edwinta Preparatory JHS. “I come from a family of 5, both parents, two siblings and I, and I’m the last born. I love reading and being creative, and I love kids. I’m a Ga, and I come from Nungua.”
