The NDC in the Ningo Prampram constituency is looking forward to achieving its most significant win yet in the upcoming elections, as per the constituency’s leadership.
In an interview, the member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George stated “We had a voter turnout of less than 70 per cent, so we’re trying to see how well we can push our voter turnout to almost 90 per cent and also ensure that we increase our margins and get as close to the hundred thousand on the register as possible”
He credited the party’s positive outlook to its strong registration process, despite facing some initial difficulties. ”Limited registration in a certain manner didn’t allow for a good number of our people to be able to register. So currently our register sits slightly above a hundred thousand.”
The NDC’s confidence is further bolstered by the perceived weakness of its New Patriotic Party (NPP) opponent, whom George described as “not someone that we take very seriously.”
He criticized the NPP candidate’s background as a land guard, stating, “Parliament is not about selling people’s lands. Parliament is about legislation, speaking and fighting for your people and being able to ensure that your people get a fair share.”
Sam George questioned the NPP’s track record, asking, “In 8 years, what has his government done that he will use as leverage?”
He dismissed the NPP candidate’s land dealings, saying, “If it was about land litigation and selling land, we’ll take him seriously, but I mean this is serious business. Parliament, we don’t sell land there, we legislate.”
With the NDC’s sights set on a decisive victory, Sam George concluded, “I’m confident this is going to be our biggest victory ever in the history of Ningo Prampram.”
