A female kenkey seller has been arrested in connection with the death of 52-year-old tailor Felix Amanor, whose body was discovered at Dominion City near Pantoase in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The arrest follows investigations into the circumstances surrounding Felix’s death, which occurred after he left his home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, and failed to return.

According to sources, investigators conducted extensive inquiries, including contact tracing, to identify a woman believed to have been in contact with the deceased shortly before his death.

The reports further claim that some investigators disguised themselves as customers and purchased kenkey from the suspect as part of efforts to establish her identity before she was arrested and questioned.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly tells investigators that Felix died while having Sex with her. Out of fear that, her husband whom she has separated due to disagreement in marriage will hear, she decided to carry the body and dumped at the roadside to conceal the crime.

She has since been arraigned in court and granted bail whiles docket forwarded to Attorney General office for advise.

Felix reportedly left his home at Blue Street near Adweso on the evening of July 4 after watching the Canada-Morocco World Cup football match.

He is said to have returned home, changed his clothes and gone out again, but did not return.

On the morning of Sunday, July 5, residents of Dominion City discovered a body lying by the roadside and alerted the authorities.

The deceased was reportedly found wearing only his underwear, while his clothes and shop keys were found nearby. The circumstances surrounding the discovery raised questions about what might have happened to him before his death.

His father, Godfred Amanor, said the incident was reported to the Adweso District Police Command. Officers subsequently visited the scene and conducted preliminary investigations before the body was conveyed to the morgue at St. Joseph’s Hospital for further examination.

Sources familiar with the case indicated that there were no obvious serious external injuries on the body. However, the precise cause of death remains subject to medical and forensic findings.

Alleged Confession

According to unverified accounts concerning the reported arrest, the female suspect allegedly told investigators that Felix collapsed and died while they were engaged in an intimate encounter.

The accounts further allege that, fearing a possible reaction from her estranged husband, with whom she was reportedly experiencing marital difficulties, she moved the body and abandoned it by the roadside.

These claims have not been independently verified, and an official police statement confirming the alleged confession and the circumstances of the arrest was not available in the information provided.

The allegations must therefore be treated with caution as investigations seek to establish the facts surrounding Felix’s death.

Before reports of the arrest emerged, an informant had reportedly claimed that investigators were given information about a woman who may have been in contact with Felix shortly before his death.

The informant suggested that mobile phone records, messages and other communications could help investigators establish the nature of their relationship and determine whether the information was relevant to the case.

Felix, who worked as a tailor, is survived by his wife, who has reportedly been battling ill health for several years, and their two children.

He was buried on Sunday, October 4, 2026, while questions surrounding the circumstances of his death continue to draw attention.
