Renowned global expert in sexual health and health equity, Dr. Vanessa Apea, has officially launched the Accra London Health Centre, a state-of-the-art women’s health facility designed to deliver world-class, culturally sensitive care in the heart of Accra.

Speaking at the grand opening, Dr. Vanessa Apea, joined by her husband and partner in the vision, Dr. John Apea, stressed the persistent healthcare disparities facing women across West Africa.

“Over 150 million women in this region lack access to adequate healthcare, despite 58 percent being economically active,” Dr. Apea stated. “Too often, African women are met with overcrowded clinics and receive impersonal, one-size-fits-all treatment. This is unacceptable.”

The Accra London Health Centre is a direct response to these challenges; offering premium, personalized care that supports women at every stage of life, from puberty and motherhood to menopause and healthy aging.

“African women deserve better care that honours their individuality, ensures dignity, and promotes both physical and mental well-being,” she emphasized.

“Healthcare is not a luxury; it is a right. This centre reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering global standards of care while embracing Ghana’s unique cultural identity.”

Built upon Dr. Apea’s extensive international medical experience and deep understanding of local needs, the facility aims to reimagine the healthcare experience for Ghanaian women. Its approach combines clinical excellence with innovation, accessibility, and empathy.

The launch event also featured remarks from Registrar of the Health Facilities Regulatory Authority (HEFRA) Dr Winfred Baah who confirmed that the facility is fully registered and licensed.

“Our inspection team was highly impressed by the quality of infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment, and the strict adherence to safety protocols,” Dr. Baah noted.

“This is a top-tier facility, and we expect management to maintain the exceptional standards it has set. HEFRA will continue routine monitoring to ensure ongoing compliance and excellence.”

The Accra London Health Centre now stands as a bold symbol of progress; championing health equity, advancing women’s wellness, and setting a new benchmark for healthcare in the region.
