The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced plans to increase fees for a range of services offered at its premium centres, sparking mixed reactions among members of the public.

The adjustment will affect services such as first-time Ghana Card registration, personal information updates, replacement of lost, stolen or damaged cards, nationality updates, and non-citizen card registration.

According to the NIA, the decision to review the fees is aimed at sustaining operations and improving service delivery across its premium centres. However, the Authority has not yet disclosed the new prices or the exact date the revised charges will take effect.

In a statement, the NIA said, “We wish to respectfully inform the general public that there will be an adjustment in the prices of the following services: First-time Registration, Personal Information Update, Replacement Service, Nationality Update, and Non-Citizen Card Registration. This adjustment is necessary to enable us maintain and improve the quality of services we provide.”

The NIA has encouraged the public to seek further clarification through its official communication channels, assuring card applicants of its commitment to maintaining efficient and quality services.
