Residents of Assin Fosu in the Central Region are in shock following the reported suicide of Emmanuel Kofi Quanoo, a 38-year-old private school teacher and taxi driver.
According to sources, Mr. Quanoo, who taught at Assin Dompim Academy Basic School, had recently returned to work on Monday, March 2, 2026, after a period of absence.
On that day, he reportedly left the school around noon, saying he was heading home to seek medical attention.
Tragically, he was later found dead in his room, allegedly having hanged himself using a skipping rope tied to a crossbar.
His two young daughters, aged seven and eight, reportedly discovered him upon returning from school and raised the alarm.
The motive behind the incident remains unknown. The deceased leaves behind a wife and two children.
Authorities have been notified, and the case is currently under investigation.
His body has been deposited at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
