A serial killer, Shariff Abdulai, also known as ‘Cristos’, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for multiple murders in the Upper West Region.
This was announced by the Ghana Police Service in a statement on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
According to the police, the Wa High Court handed down the sentence after Abdulai pleaded guilty to the murder of 24 people — sixteen in Wa, five in Bole, and one each in Banda Nkwanta and Bamboi.
The convict was arrested on October 6, 2025, following intelligence-led operations and sustained investigations.
The court, presided over by His Lordship Justice Osei-Wusu Antwi, sentenced Abdulai to life imprisonment with hard labour.
He is to serve his sentence at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison.
In the statement, the police reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the rule of law, emphasizing that efforts will continue to ensure safety and security for law-abiding citizens.
“[The Command] reaffirms its unwavering commitment to uphold the rule of law and will not relent in the efforts in ensuring a safe and secure atmosphere for law-abiding citizens,” the statement added.
