A faith-based youth group, Youth in Action for Christ Ministries, has called on Parliament to expedite the passage of the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, urging national leaders to take decisive action on the matter.
The group made the appeal in a statement dated Wednesday, April 15, 2026, outlining its position on what it described as the moral direction of Ghanaian society.
“We believe that God created humanity in His image, ‘male and female’ (Genesis 1:27), and established marriage as a sacred covenant between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24),” the group stated.
It added that its stance is based on biblical teachings and moral principles guiding sexual conduct.
“We also acknowledge biblical passages such as Leviticus 18:22 (‘Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination’),” the statement continued.
The group, which describes itself as a faith-driven youth movement focused on spiritual growth, evangelism, and moral advocacy, said it seeks to influence society through Christian values and leadership.
In its appeal to lawmakers, the group urged Parliament to prioritise the bill, arguing that it reflects the moral expectations of many young Christians in the country.
“In view of this, we write with a deep sense of concern and urgency to appeal to the Parliament of Ghana to take decisive steps to accelerate the passing of the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill,” it said.
The group also appealed to the President to assent to the bill once passed by Parliament.
