President John Dramani Mahama will arrive in Antigua on Monday evening to attend the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), convened by King Charles III.
The biennial summit gathers Commonwealth heads of government, ministers, business leaders, and representatives from civil society and youth organisations to discuss shared priorities and explore opportunities for cooperation.
The 2026 meeting, President Mahama’s first since his re-election in December 2024, will focus on the theme “Accelerating Partnership and Investment for a Prosperous Commonwealth.”
This theme highlights the need to strengthen partnerships, mobilise investment, and promote sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity across the Commonwealth.
President Mahama will engage with other Commonwealth leaders on economic cooperation, trade, investment, and sustainable development. He is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with several heads of state and government during his two-day visit to St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.
CHOGM provides a key platform for Commonwealth leaders to address global and regional challenges, strengthen diplomatic relations, and advance collective action on issues affecting member countries.
