Member of Parliament, Hon. Victoria Cudjoe has stated that the recent assault on Hon. Hawa Koomson is a result of karma catching up with her. Speaking to journalists, Victoria Cudjoe said Hawa Koomson “has met her meter” and deserved what happened to her.
“She has met her meter. If today she has met her meter, she deserves it. She has made some of our people [NDC] been shot at Kasoa, rendering them unable to walk. In the recent 2024 election, persons have been killed because of her,” Victoria Cudjoe claimed.
Quoting the Bible, she added, “He who pulls the gun dies by the gun, so it’s her karma that has caught up with her but not us NDC. She doesn’t vote here (Odorkor); she votes at Kasoa, so why did she enter into the entrance? She is here to give support. I am here also to give support, but have you seen me enter there? If I don’t deserve to go there, she doesn’t also deserve to go there. No one is above the law.”
She further stated that although she does not know the people behind the assault, she believes it is a result of Hawa Koomson’s past deeds catching up with her. “Just as she made people beat and kill some Kasoa people, maybe she has enemies that she walks with, but not us Kasoa people who have beaten her and not us NDC who have beaten her. Karma is real; the way you did to others, same will be done to you. So if it has come like this, she deserves it.”
Her comments come after a group of unidentified macho men reportedly stormed the St. Peter’s polling station in a well-coordinated attack. The thugs assaulted journalists and party agents, disrupting voting activities at the centre.
The Electoral Commission (EC) is conducting the rerun in 19 polling stations across the Ablekuma North constituency to resolve verification issues that marred the December 2024 general elections. Results from 18 of the 37 initially disputed polling stations were previously certified, leaving the remaining 19 for a fresh vote.
The constituency has been without a Member of Parliament since 2024 due to the unresolved collation process. The EC maintains that the rerun is necessary to conclude the matter and restore parliamentary representation to the area.
