The Founder and President of World Wide Miracle, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh has stated that the Akosombo Dam Spillage disaster was purely technical issues.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray Thursday, Dr. Tetteh stated that technical persons with the Volta River Authority should have known that the water level will rise at a point.
“I think we have a serious technical deficiency. The problem with the spillage of the Akosombo is a technical problem. We have to look at it technically otherwise we will all be living in a fool’s paradise.
“Didn’t we know that sometime the dam will be filled? Are we saying that we don’t know that there are times that the dam will be filled and the water level will be very high?” Dr. Tetteh asked.
He disclosed that while the Akosombo dam was being built there should have canals built alongside that should store such excess water at times like this.
According to him, the dams built in the UK and other parts of the world have such canals that store water when the water level rises in order to avert such challenges Ghana is facing now.
“From what I am gathering, if care is not taken one day, the whole of Tema will be swept away. Because remember water is a very heavy thing,” he advised.
