The AKSA Anwomaso Power Plant has finally come on stream following the successful completion of its tie-in to the national transmission grid by the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo).
Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, inspected the facility as part of government efforts to ensure the smooth integration of new power generation infrastructure aimed at strengthening Ghana’s power generation.
Once fully operational, the AKSA Anwomaso Power Plant is expected to contribute approximately 141 megawatts (MW) to the national grid, boosting electricity supply to homes, businesses, and industries, particularly across the middle belt and other parts of the country.

Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Dr. Jinapor said the integration of the plant underscores government’s commitment to strengthening the national power system and ensuring energy security.
“The completion of the tie-in at the AKSA Anwomaso Power Plant represent a significant milestone in our efforts to expand generation capacity and improve the reliability of electricity supply for Ghanaians. This project reflects our focus on long-term system stability and sustainable energy delivery,” he stated.

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition reiterated that all activities surrounding the AKSA Anwomaso Power Plant are being undertaken in the national interest, with a strong emphasis on long-term system stability, enhanced power reliability, and improved service delivery nationwide.
