A statue has been unveiled in honor of President Akufo-Addo by the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah.
The statue, located at an intersection near Effia Nkwanta on the ongoing Sekondi road construction project, was installed to recognize President Akufo-Addo’s contributions to infrastructure development in the region.
During the President’s second term, his administration initiated several major infrastructure projects in the Western Region. These projects include the construction of a three-tier PTC interchange in Takoradi, the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle, construction of six key roads in Sekondi and Takoradi, and an interchange at the Paa Grant Roundabout. Additionally, there’s the redevelopment of Effia Nkwanta Hospital into a teaching hospital, construction of an Agenda 111 hospital at Ahanta West, as well as the Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta and Agona Nkwanta-Tarkwa road projects.
While the Takoradi Market Circle and PTC Interchange projects have faced delays in recent months, the other projects are nearing completion.
The statue was unveiled following the President’s visit to the region as part of his “Thank You” tour.
Earlier, at a gathering of chiefs, clergy, imams, institutional heads, government officials, and party faithful, President Akufo-Addo acknowledged that his government had not fulfilled all its promises. However, he expressed confidence that significant progress had been made and stated that he remained accountable to the people of the Western Region. He also assured attendees that the two delayed projects would be completed by the end of his tenure.
