Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has been shortlisted for the 2025/26 EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Season award following an outstanding campaign split between AFC Bournemouth and Manchester City. The 26-year-old forward has enjoyed the best season of his career, emerging as one of the league’s most consistent attacking threats.
Semenyo began the season in sensational form at Bournemouth, scoring 10 Premier League goals before sealing a high-profile winter transfer to Manchester City in January. His performances for the Cherries attracted interest from several top clubs before Pep Guardiola’s side completed a deal reportedly worth around €72 million.
Since arriving at Manchester City, Semenyo has adapted quickly to Guardiola’s system and has become an important figure in City’s title chase. Across the full Premier League season, the Ghanaian has registered 16 goals and four assists in 35 appearances, while also winning the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award in February after contributing three goals and an assist in his first five league matches for City.
The versatile attacker has impressed operating on both wings, through the middle and even in advanced midfield roles, with his pace, power and direct style making him one of the standout performers in England this season. Semenyo’s form has helped Manchester City remain firmly in the Premier League title race heading into the closing stages of the campaign.
Semenyo joins a strong shortlist featuring Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, Declan Rice, David Raya, Gabriel Magalhães, Morgan Gibbs-White and Igor Thiago for the prestigious award.
Fans can vote for the winner through the official Premier League website, with voting open until 12:00 BST on Monday, May 18. The final result will be determined by a combination of public votes and a panel of football experts before the winner is announced next week.
