The Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has indicated the next administration of President John Dramani Mahama will make the Ashanti region the business hub of Ghana.

He re-affirmed President Mahama’s commitment to uphold his primary objective to work with all relevant stakeholders in the region to promote peace, social and economic development to ensure that the region gets its fair share of the national cake.

In an interaction with the media on his first day of his five-day tour of the Ashanti region, Mr. Debrah said his message will be devoid of insults or personal attacks, adding he will be explaining in detail to the people what the next administration of Mahama will do for the people of the Ashanti region.

Already, President Mahama had committed to reviving the Aboso Glass Factory, establish a tomato factory and revive cocoa production in Akomadan and other viable factories including the setting up of a Jewelry Village and gold market at Tepa in partnership with KNUST.

Besides the Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central region, the revived GIHOC distilleries, the Shea Nut factory and the Kumasi Shoe factory, more factories are to be established. Priority will also be given to defunct Kwame Nkrumah Factories which prove viable today.

He said: “Ashanti region would be the entrepreneurial paradise of Ghana under the next administration of President Mahama.”

While in the Ashanti region, Mr. Debrah will focus his attention on interacting with the Chiefs, Imams, schools, markets, nurses and penetrate deeper into communities to explain what the next NDC government under Mahama would do when given the mandate to continue as President between 2017-2021.

“If a political party wants the people to vote for them, I think you need to go to the people to explain to them why you need their votes. We have resolved to go to every nook and cranny of the country, every village, every hamlet and tell them what we intend doing for them,” he stated.

He said: “The NDC has a solid record of achievements and all the realistic ideas we have been sharing to the people are etched in our manifesto which aims at catapulting Ghana to greater heights of progress, where job creation would be pivotal in the scheme of things.”

Mr. Debrah is in the Ashanti region with a leading member of the NDC Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, a member of the campaign team Madam Faustina Nelson, Dep. Min for communications Ato Sarpong among others.
